Flowdrilling simultaneously perforates and forms bushings in thin metal using frictional heat produced by high rotational speeds and axial pressure.cost effective replacement for threaded and riveted nut applications surfaces in thin materials .it will produce very precise and very strong threads withhigh torque specifications.
The process as follows:
1.Plasticizing and displacement of material，using high speed rotation and pressure
2.Formation of bushing that can be 3 times of the original material thickness
3.Formation of the thread using the cold tapping method
Flowdrill and Flowtap processes can be adapted to any CNC center or manual machining units .
Several applications is possible ,as steel （up to 700 N/mm2 tensile strength）,non-ferrous metale ,aluminium (less than 5% Si),stainless steel,acid resistant steel etc.
